The retail operating system

One engine for every retail decision.

Most retailers run four or five separate tools.

Search in one tool, pricing in another, ads bolted on top — nobody owns the order shoppers see, and margin leaks between them. The Unified Decision Engine governs relevance, inventory, margin and sponsored demand in one pass, on every surface, including the AI assistants now doing the shopping.

Start with one surface. Leave the rest of your stack untouched.

Retail Media for Shopify: Sell Sponsored Products

Plan supplier-funded sponsored products on your Shopify store. Assess eligible inventory, placements, campaign operations, disclosure and reporting.

Sell sponsored products on your own Shopify store

Your suppliers may value access to shoppers already exploring your assortment. An onsite retail-media programme packages that opportunity around relevant products, clear disclosure and accountable delivery. Start by checking whether your store has the eligible inventory, supplier demand and operational capacity to support a useful pilot.

Define the inventory you can responsibly sell

Start with one category and one shopping surface. Identify which products can appear, what makes an item eligible and how sponsored exposure interacts with the existing product order. Agree how to handle unavailable products and queries that have no relevant advertiser. An unsold placement is preferable to an irrelevant shopping experience.

Particular Audience's Shopify page includes sponsored media in its app proposition. Its broader Sponsored Products overview describes relevant placements across discovery surfaces. Confirm the exact Shopify theme, app configuration and commercial scope for your pilot; the broader product overview does not establish entitlement to every placement in every store.

Check viability before promising revenue

Count eligible opportunities after stock, relevance and placement rules, then explore supplier appetite. Keep the quantities separate: page views are not automatically saleable impressions, eligible impressions are not automatically filled, and filled impressions are not guaranteed clicks or purchases. Decide who will recruit advertisers, approve creative and reconcile delivery.

For a synthetic planning example, imagine 100,000 eligible sponsored-impression opportunities in a month. At an assumed 40% fill, the plan contains 40,000 delivered impressions. At an assumed 1% click-through rate and £0.50 average charged click, the arithmetic produces 400 clicks and £200 gross media charges. These are invented inputs, not a PA forecast. They exclude fees, operating costs, adjustments and any effect on product sales. Replace every assumption with evidence before making a commercial commitment.

Design a small, complete supplier workflow

Record the advertiser account, authorised products, dates, spending cap, measurement definitions and approval owner. Give suppliers a clear view of the inventory they are buying and the reporting they will receive. The Ad Set Builder describes a campaign-creation product; map your actual approval and billing process around the supported workflow rather than promising unattended operation.

Keep paid-placement disclosure visible where the shopper encounters the product. A product can be relevant and sponsored at the same time; the experience should make both facts understandable. Retain a named operational owner for stock changes, creative problems and supplier questions.

Measure the store as well as the campaign

Report delivery, spend and attributed outcomes using agreed definitions. Also inspect shopper behaviour, relevance and total category performance. A campaign that absorbs organic clicks without improving the business may need a different design even if its attribution report looks attractive.

Begin with an inventory and integration review. The useful output is a pilot brief listing supported placements, eligible suppliers, data requirements, operating responsibilities and the decision rule for expansion. That gives commercial and technical teams the same launch criteria.

How Particular Audience does it

Frequently asked questions

Does this mean buying Google Shopping or social ads?

This page concerns supplier-funded placements inside your own Shopify shopping experience. It is a merchant-operated onsite advertising opportunity. Buying traffic from an external advertising platform is a separate workflow, with different inventory, accounts, budgets and measurement requirements.

How much traffic does a Shopify store need?

There is no verified universal threshold in this guide. Evaluate eligible placement opportunities, supplier demand, achievable fill and operating costs together. A smaller category can support a useful test if the advertiser proposition is credible, but illustrative revenue arithmetic should not be sold as a forecast.

Can sponsored products appear in checkout?

Do not assume checkout inventory is included. Confirm the exact Shopify surfaces, theme compatibility, permissions and plan requirements during scoping. Start with a verified supported placement, define shopper disclosure and stock behaviour, and expand only after the implementation and commercial responsibilities are clear.
